The suggestion seems to be that if law enforcers and the law abiding don't have guns then guns won't exist - a nonsense.

Unilateral disarmament was a ridiculous idea when applied to nuclear arms in the cold war and is a ridiculous idea when applied to firearms in society.

It doesn't matter how far you bury your head in the sand, criminals and neer-do-wells will always have access to guns - this is because criminals do not obey the law, a concept which our lawmakers seem to struggle with.

Firearms are more attractive to criminals than ever before because of the fear and phobia generated through years of anti-gun propaganda parroted by government and their apologists over the past century or so.

Ownership of guns by the law abiding has plummeted in the UK, yet despite this, criminal use of firearms has rocketed.

Victim disarmament by the Home Office and persecution of legitimate owners of firearms by well-meaning but misguided individuals has created a paradise for criminals.

This will not be reversed by more of the same.
